A Senior Policy Advisor at the Rector's Office
is one of two staff members who support Ghent University's Rector on a day-to-day basis in a series of activities and roles. While the secretary of the Rector primarily takes care of all kinds of practical issues, the focus of the senior advisor is more on the content (prepararation and follow-up of meetings, preparing correspondence, speeches, presentations, etc.) For specific activities and roles (e.g. international travels, internal and external communication) the Rector is supported by other staff members, with whom the Senior Advisor is also in contact. The Senior Advisor also coordinates structural informal and formal meetings at senior management level.
> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs from all academic backgrounds.
Ghent University offers a 1- day Job Shadowing experience. The date will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate, also based on the schedule of the Rector and the Senior Policy Advisor.
