Atlas Copco Airpower opens the position of CAE Specialist for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

The CAE team is the core competence team of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique focused on thermal, flow and structural simulations. Our experts closely collaborate with product development of different divisions worldwide. We perform advanced simulations for a wide range of applications and products. The design parameters, information obtained from prototype testing and insights based on simulation models are combined and used to steer our product development in the right direction.

In addition, our specialists develop the domain of simulations which implies that they remain up to date with the state of the art, identify interesting opportunities and perform the necessary R&D projects to bring our simulation capabilities to the next level. 

> Open to PhD candidates/postdocs with a background in Numerical Simulations, Computer Aided Engineering, Modeling, Finite Element Simulations, Multi-body Simulations or Computational Fluid Dynamics, Structural Analysis, Design Optimisation, Flow, Thermal. A good knowledge of English is a must. Experience in the Structural, Flow or Thermal Competence Domain is strongly advised. Experience with simulations is an advantage.

Atlas Copco Airpower can offer a 1- or 2-day Job Shadowing experience. The possible dates for Job Shadowing are 6, 7, 9, 13 or 14 October.
