ArcelorMittal opens its Modeling Team for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

The selected candidate will shadow an employee who is responsible for developing and deploying mathematical optimization models (operations research) in a challenging environment. The Modeling Team (40 FTE's) will be introduced to highlight most aspects of the work done in the group. It will also be shown how to optimize and implement the logistical flows on the premises, along with a unique tour in the plant to see the models in action.

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Physics. Preference is given to candidates who have an affinity with mathematics and programming.
