The Vrije Universiteit Brussel opens the position of Coordinator of the Citizen Science Contact Point for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

The Citizen Science Contact Point is part of the vice-rectorate of Research, and more specifically of the Research Outreach and Communication team.
The main goals of the Citizen Science Contact Point are (1) to raise awareness about (the possibilities of) citizen science and to promote a culture at our university in which Citizen Science is considered a fully-fledged research method, and (2) to stimulate both the quality and quantity of funded VUB research projects with a Citizen Science approach. The goals are reached by providing peer learning and networking opportunities; training, tools and info materials; and project support to the research community at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

 

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs from all academic backgrounds. Candidates do not need to be native speakers of Dutch, but they nevertheless need to fully understand it, as Dutch is the working language of the team.   

VUB offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. The dates for Job Shadowing will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the team's office days.
