The Vrije Universiteit Brussel opens the position of Coordinator Researcher Training & Development Office for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function.
A Coordinator Researcher Training & Development Office at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel is involved in doctoral policy making - coordination of workshops/events for researchers (the Welcome Day, for example, is organised in cooperation between the Researcher Training & Development team and HR) - collaboration with other departments and other Flemish/international universities - PhD process optimalisation - leading a team of 3 policy advisors and 4 administrative staff members & related HR-administration.
> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs from all academic backgrounds. A knowledge of Dutch is helpful as most of the policy making is done in a Flemish context, however interested international researchers can definitely be hosted.
VUB offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. The dates suggested for Job Shadowing are 6, 13 or 14 October.
