Aluminium Duffel opens the position of R&D Engineer for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

An R&D Engineer at Aluminium Duffel is responsible for the execution of R&D Projects, in close supervision of the manager, including the development, qualification and launch of the new products at customers. The R&D Engineer is responsible for timing, quality, budget and all IP (intellectual Property) aspects, related to the R&D activities. The R&D Engineer supports the Duffel manufacturing plant in his/her expertise area, and supports Support Customer Development Engineering with customer related topic and agreed customer related projects topics to solve the issues at customers.

> Open to PhD candidates/postdocs with a background in Engineering, Natural Sciences. A firm knowledge of English is a must.

Aluminium Duffel can offer a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. Job Shadowing preferably takes place on one of the following days: 7, 8, 9, 14 or 15 October.
