Amcor opens the position of Senior Research Engineer (R&D) for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

A Senior Research Engineer (R&D) at Amcor develops new paper-based recycling-ready packaging building blocks and final solutions. The Senior Research Engineer is also actively involvement in setting future EU recycling guidelines. The Senior Research Engineer screens raw materials for use in the new structures; works out new formulations; enters pilot & analytical requests; follows up pilot trials and analytical assessment of materials made; tests final specifications developed for their recyclability and runnability on packaging lines; and reports and presents results to the broader R&D teams.
