IMEC open the position of R&D Engineer Computer Chips Pathfinding for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function.
Job Shadowing will give you an opportunity to follow along as a specific layer of the next generation of computer chips is being developed. An R&D Engineer Computer Chips Pathfinding analyzes results (TEM images, electrical results, SEM) produced by the state of the art cleanroom and discusses them with team members and tool specialists. The R&D Engineer decides on the next steps to improve the process and define new experiments and dispatch the required process steps to the cleanroom.
> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry. Preference is given to candidates with a very basic knowledge of the structure of a computer chip .
IMEC offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. The date suggested for Job Shadowing are 7 or 8 October.
