B-12 Consulting opens the position of AI Engineer for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

An AI Engineer at B12 Consulting is responsible for: 

- Design and development of the best IT solutions for Clients, using mainly top notch Open Source programming technologies.
- Analysis of available data by leveraging advanced data processing and statistical techniques, and help defining new data needs and collection strategies.
- Design and improvement of machine learning algorithms using most recent technologies in AI (Transformer based language models, image recognition/segmentation models, reinforcement learning algorithms, …). Active contribution to the deployment of those algorithms to production environments in close collaboration with our software development teams.
- Understanding, structuring and challenging our Clients' needs by participating in various business development and iteration meetings. ...

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering. Knowledge of machine learning concepts and experience with Python is required.

B-12 Consulting offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. The date for Job Shadowing between 6 and 17 October will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate. Fridays are ideal for job shadowing since all employees are in the office and presentations are typically held on that day.
