FairFin opens the position of Researcher & Campaigner for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function.
FairFin is a socio-cultural movement working towards a sustainable and socially-just society in which money is used in a fair way. As a Researcher & Campaigner for FairFin, you critically screen the investments and policies of financial players. You follow trends in the financial sector and develop a vision of how to do things differently. Based on your research, you devise punishing campaigns for a different financial system. Together with the communications manager, you devise the strategy of campaigns and the actions that go with them, and together with colleagues you look for external resources to finance these campaigns. Based on the research and campaign strategy, you work with the communications manager to write accessible website articles and opinion pieces. You collaborate on press strategy and participate in public debate. You maintain and further build networks with like-minded organizations and collaborate on campaigns. You also regularly engage in personal or online dialogue with the press, financial institutions and policy makers and you give trainings to citizens and partners.
> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Economics or Finance. Affinity with FairFin's mission is required - interest or specialisation in the financial sector is a bonus.
FairFin offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. The date of Job Shadowing will be decided in close consultation with the selected candidate.
