VDAB opens the position of Policy Advisor for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

As a Policy Advisor at VDAB, you are at the forefront when new policy options are developed and integrated into the organisation. You are constantly exposed to new impulses and a wide range of labour market issues. The role challenges you to inspire, bring clarity to complex cases, and provide well-founded support for decision-making.

As a ‘broker of solutions,’ you advise and support top management with insight and expertise. To successfully carry out your tasks, you actively seek collaboration — within your team, across the organization, and with external networks. On top of that, you have the opportunity to continue developing yourself in a dynamic context at the intersection of politics, governance and management.

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs from all academic backgrounds. The majority of Policy Advisors at VDAB have a background in Social and Behavioural Sciences. A firm knowledge of Dutch is required.
