The Vlaams-Nederlands Huis deBuren opens the position of Algemeen Directeur (general director) for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function.

The Algemeen Directeur holds ultimate responsibility for both the overall strategic direction and the day-to-day business and content-related policies. He maintains relationships with governmental bodies, media and partners, manages internal teams, and shapes the organization’s substantive and artistic vision. Responsibilities include overseeing internal operations (developing and implementing the content vision, HR policy, team leadership) as well as external representation (liaising with government and media, partner collaboration, and networking).

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in the cultural sector.  Candidates need to be have an excellent command of Dutch.  

The Vlaams-Nederlands Huis deBuren offers a 1-day Job Shadowing experience. Job Shadowing takes place between 6 and 17 October. The date will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate(s).
