Vlaamse Statistische Autoriteit - Statistiek Vlaanderen (Statistics Flanders) opens the position of Methodologist/Statistician for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

A Methodologist/Statistician for the Flemish Statistical Authority is responsible for advising colleagues on the optimal statistical methods and techniques for data collection and analysis, which underpins the production of official Flemish statistics. The Methodologist/Statistician is currently also functioning as a transition manager, focused on developing robust processes to automate, standardize, and document the statistical production workflows, driving efficiency and consistency.

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Statistics, Social Sciences or anything data related. Preference is given to candidates with a firm knowledge of Dutch, who are familiar with programming (R is used mainly).

The Flemish Statistical Authority offers a 2-day Job Shadowing experience. The dates for Job Shadowing will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate.
