Vlaamse Statistische Autoriteit - Statistiek Vlaanderen (Statistics Flanders) opens the position of Chief
Statistician for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

The Chief Statistician leads the Flemish Statistical Authority and the Statistics Flanders network. He is responsible for coordinating the statistical policy of the Flemish government bodies, for the quality of the development, production, and publication of Flemish public statistics, and for their monitoring.

> Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a background in Statistics, Social Sciences or anything data related. Preference is given to candidates with a firm knowledge of Dutch, who are familiar with the public statistics policy.

The Flemish Statistical Authority offers a 2-day Job Shadowing experience. The dates suggested for Job Shadowing are 14 and 16 October.
