Bureau Bouwtechniek opens the position of Architect / Engineer for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

Shadowing an Architect at Bureau Bouwtechniek, you will discover the field of work of the executive architect. The architect helps answer technical and financial questions from the design architect, so that the latter can focus fully on the design. This can be at any stage of the project, from the competition to completion and aftercare.
Shadowing an Engineer during an energy renovation, you will discover the field of work of an engineer in complex energy-efficient roof or façade renovations. You will observe how energy, technical and financial questions are answered and how the work is carried out. This can be at any stage of the project, from the quotation or application to delivery and aftercare. 

> Open to PhD candidates/postdocs with a background in Engineering, technical development of design and realisation of construction projects. Preference is given to candidates who are fluent in Dutch or French.  

Bureau Bouwtechniek offers a 1- day Job Shadowing experience. The date for Job Shadowing will be decided upon in close consultation with the selected candidate. The location depends on the shadowee's choice, the location of the project and the workplace of the employee to be shadowed. This could be Antwerp, Ghent or Brussels.
