Boerenbond opens the position of Horticultural Consultant for the purpose of Job Shadowing, offering PhD candidates (≥ 3rd year of the PhD trajectory) / postdocs affiliated with 1 of the 5 Flemish universities the possibility to see for themselves what tasks and responsibilities come with this particular job function. 

A Horticultural Consultant manages several cases, ranging from practical procedures to current applicable legislation. Together with board members, the Consultant identifies areas where further solutions are needed and where greater awareness needs to be raised within the horticultural sector. This takes the form of board meetings and tailored training sessions for the sector on various topics such as current affairs, employment, occupational safety and plant protection products. The Consultant serves as the first point of contact for greenhouse growers in West and East Flanders with questions, particularly regarding the topics mentioned above.

 
   > Open to PhD candidates / postdocs with a keen interest in the agriculture and horticulture sector. Preference is given to candidates with a firm knowledge of Dutch.

Boerenbond offers a 2-day Job Shadowing experience. The dates suggested for Job Shadowing are 6 and 7 October. The venue still has to be decided up - could be Diksmuidsesteenweg 406/4, 8800 Roeselare or Kortrijksesteenweg 1144 J, 9051 Sint-Denijs-Westrem.
